For the first time, since 1718, we have been freezing (or below) for eight straight days here in Swansboro, North Carolina. AND we had snow. SNOW! It was absolutely beautiful; stunning! We had around 3" of snow (I know that's minuscule compared to the North this time of year). It draped the ground, trees, and bushes like a soft glittery blanket and there it has stayed for three days now, and counting. Schools have been closed since Thursday because of the icy road conditions, so of course my family and I went straight outside to play in it (our little town in Eastern NC is not equipped for snow)! We own next to zero snow attire, but that didn't matter. We bundled up in whatever we had and out we went! Sledding down the golf course driving range and building snowmen in our front yard. I was lucky enough to have a maternity session scheduled and we took full advantage of the beautiful snowy scenery. Sheri and Joe toughed through the below freezing temps and we captured some amazing maternity images that they'll cherish forever.
